The Skin

Challenges in Caring for the Skin:

The skin is the largest organ in the human body. It is a multilayer elastic structure, that stretches and bends with body movements. The skin protects the patient from foreign bodies such as Bacteria and Vira. While being a barrier, the skin influences moisture balance, allowing moisture and salts to escape through its structure.

When the skin is damaged, the body is left significantly more vulnerable. The patient’s comfort is compromised, and the risk of systemic body reactions increases.

Many Medical Devices are attached and adhered to the skin during use. The Healthcare Provider constantly assesses the condition of skin where the device is attached and the surrounding skin. This is done prior to use, during use and after product removal.

In our products we take Skin Care very seriously and do our best to provide design that supports the healthcare professionals in their care for the patient’s skin and its well-being.
